Will VanHoornbeek joined the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Soccer Coaching Staff in the Fall of 2024 as a Graduate Assistant Goalkeeper Coach for both Men's and Women's soccer.
During his two years his goalies on the men's and women's team combined to post 27 shutouts. In just two seasons, Riley Miller ranks third in program history with 17 shutouts and ninth with 147 saves. Her 0.85 goals against average in 2025 is 10th all-time. She was an All-SAC First Team honoree in 2024. In their 2025 run to the national quarterfinals, Miller and the Bears failed to allow a goal through their first three NCAA Tournament games. On the men's side, Tomas Fontes was named an All-SAC Second Team honoree after posting six shutouts and a 0.99 goals against average in 2025, the sixth best in program history.Â
VanHoornbeek comes to Lenoir-Rhyne after playing for the University of Indianapolis for two years. While playing for the Greyhounds, Will went to the NCAA Sweet 16 and Elite 8. He won the GLVC tournament in 2023. VanHoornbeek graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 2024 with a bachelor's of science in sports management. Prior to transferring to the University of Indianapolis, Will played for Southwest Baptist University for four seasons as a goalkeeper.
Will also played for Springfield Demize in 2024, Semi-pro NPSL with Med City FC in 2023, and USL 2 with Dayton Dutch Lions in 2021.Â
VanHoornbeek was born and raised in Bolivar, Missouri and is the middle child to a family of 8 and has 3 brothers.Â
