Lenoir-Rhyne’s Katie Novacek Earns First-Team All-State Honors In Volleyball

Junior from Raleigh, N.C., named to the NCCSIA College Division All-State Volleyball Team

Wingate, N.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne College’s Katie Novacek has been named to the 2007 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division First-Team All-State Volleyball Team.

Novacek, a junior outside hitter from Raleigh, N.C., led L-R in blocks (106) and was second in kills (313) this season and earned All-South Atlantic Conference First-Team honors last month.

The Cardinal Gibbons High School graduate also earned all-league accolades in 2006.

Founded in 2002, NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina.

NCCSIA selects all-state teams for men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, softball and baseball on the College (Division II, III, NAIA) and University (Division I) levels. More than 400 student-athletes have been recognized on all-state teams since 2003.
