Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Signs First Two Recruits For The
2008 Season
Bears sign Chelsea Hill and Marrissa Church
Hickory, N.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne College Head Volleyball Coach Dave
Markland has announced the signing of Chelsea Hill and Marrissa Church,
the first two recruits for the 2008 season.
Hill (Lexington, N.C.) played at West Davidson High School under Head Coach
Kelan Rogers, where she was named the 2006 and 2007 Central Carolina 2A
Conference Player Of The Year. A 6-0 middle blocker, she also led West Davidson
to four conference regular season and tournament titles (2004-07).
Church (Statesville, N.C.), an outside hitter, was a three-time
all-conference and All-Iredell County pick (2005-07) at perennial power West
Iredell High School under Head Coach Kelly Burdeau.
L-R finished the 2007 campaign with an 18-16 record, its fourth straight
winning season.
“We are very excited to have signed Chelsea (Hill) and Marrissa (Church),”
said Markland. “Both young ladies are quality student-athletes and come from
traditionally-strong volleyball programs.”
