Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Places Three On All-South Atlantic
Conference Teams
Catherine Fulton and Katie Novacek named first-team all-conference
Rock Hill, S.C. – The 2007 All-South Atlantic Conference Volleyball
Teams were announced today as part of the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference
Volleyball Tournament.
Lenoir-Rhyne placed three players on the squads, highlighted by senior libero
Catherine Fulton (Hendersonville, N.C./Hendersonville HS) and junior
middle blocker Katie Novacek (Raleigh, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons HS), who
were named to the All-SAC First Team.
Bear freshman middle blocker Caroline Albertelli (Plantation, Fla./Chaminade
Madonna Prep) was named to the SAC-All Freshman team.
Fulton also was named the conference statistical champion for digs per game
with 5.76. This season she broke the single-season record for digs and also the
career record for digs. As of Nov. 3, she has tallied 718 and 3,311 digs,
respectively.
Novacek leads the team in blocks (104) and is second in kills (305), while
Albertelli leads the team in kills (323) and is second in blocking with 94.
The Bears will face Newberry in the first round of the 2007 Food Lion South
Atlantic Conference Tournament Friday at noon. The tournament is being held in
Jefferson City, Tenn., with Carson-Newman as the host institution. |
