Lincoln Memorial Volleyball Defeats Lenoir-Rhyne, 3-1
Senior setter Lauren McLelland dished out 52 assists in the losing effort
Harrogate, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University Volleyball Team
(17-10, 5-4) defeated Lenoir-Rhyne College (16-13, 4-6), 3-1, by scores of
20-30, 34-32, 30-21 and 30-24 Friday evening in a South Atlantic Conference
match at Mary E. Mars Gymnasium in Harrogate, Tenn.
The Bears lost despite 52 assists and 15 digs from senior setter Lauren
McLelland (Statesville, N.C./West Iredell HS) and a match-high 21 kills by
freshman middle blocker Caroline Albertelli (Plantation, Fla./Chaminade
Madonna Prep).
The Lady Railsplitters were led by Amanda Horenkamp (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) with
15 kills while Lauren Kiwacka (Tipp City, Ohio) added 35 assists and 15 digs as
the two teams split the season series.
Lenoir-Rhyne next travels to Wingate, N.C., to take on first-place Wingate
Tuesday at 7 p.m., in a league match.
