Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Sweeps Belmont Abbey, 3-0, On The
Road
Katie Novacek and Caroline Albertelli led the Bears with 15 kills apiece
Belmont, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne College Volleyball Team (16-12) swept
Belmont Abbey College (7-19), 3-0, Tuesday evening at The Wheeler Center in
Belmont, N.C. L-R won by scores of 30-20, 30-22 and 30-22.
The Bears were led by junior outside hitter Katie Novacek (Raleigh,
N.C./Cardinal Gibbons HS) and freshman middle blocker Caroline Albertelli
(Plantation, Fla./Chaminade Madonna Prep) with 15 kills each while senior setter
Lauren McLelland (Statesville, N.C./West Iredell HS) dished out 41
assists.
For the Crusaders, Allison Smith (Clifton, Va.) tallied 28 assists and Monica
Halligan (Yuma, Ariz.) finished with 15 digs.
Lenoir-Rhyne stays on the road Friday when it travels to Harrogate, Tenn., to
take on Lincoln Memorial beginning at 6:30 p.m., in a South Atlantic Conference
match.
