Lenoir-Rhyne Track And Field Competes In The Tony Waldrop Invitational
L-R competes in a mostly NCAA Division I meet
Chapel Hill, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne College Men's and Women's Track and
Field Teams competed in the Tony Waldrop Invitational, a mostly NCAA Division I
meet, on the campus of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C.,
last Sunday.
L-R had a strong showing in the field events for the men, starting off with
freshman Marcus Shuford's (Newton, N.C./Newton-Conover HS) seventh-place
finish in the high jump (6 feet and 4.75 inches).
Sophomore Hamilton Borden (Louisville, Tenn./William Blount HS) placed
sixth in the javelin toss (150 feet and nine inches) and sophomore Lamont
Savage (Salisbury, N.C./West Rowan HS) finished seventh in the long jump
invitational (22 feet and 8.5 inches).
Lenoir-Rhyne next competes in the Tri-Conference Championship in Banner Elk,
N.C., on April 18 and 19.
