Competes In The 2008 Asics/Winthrop Invitational
Four Bears take fourth-place finishes
Rock Hill, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne College Men's and Women's Track and
Field Team competed this past weekend (Friday, March 28, and Saturday, March 29) in the 2008
Winthrop/Asics Invitational at the Irwin Belk Track in Rock Hill, S.C.
The Bears had several notable running performances including fourth-place
finishes by senior Caroline Herzl (Littleton, Colo./Heritage HS) in the
1,500-meter development run (5:33.81), senior Josh Stuckey (Stony Point,
N.C./West Iredell HS) in the 10,000-meter run (36:27) and freshman Bobby
Komisarski (Beaver Creek, Ohio/Xenia Christian HS) in the 55-meter hurdle
race with a time of 55.24 seconds.
The Lenoir-Rhyne 1,600-meter relay team for the men finished with a time of
3:27.53. the team consisted of Komisarski, freshman Marcus Shuford
(Newton, N.C./Newton-Conover HS), freshman Anton Graphenreed (Columbus,
Ga./Shaw HS) and redshirt freshman Matt Corbin (Franklin,
N.C./Appalachian State Univ.)
In the field events, sophomore Kristen Fulmer (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood
Ranch HS) tied for fourth overall in the high jump at five feet and five inches.
Meanwhile, freshman Troy Crawford (Staunton, Va./Robert E. Lee HS) placed
sixth in the triple jump (42 feet and 3.5 inches).
Lenoir-Rhyne next competes in the North Carolina Invitational on Sunday, April
12, in Chapel Hill, N.C.
