Lincoln Memorial Women’s Tennis Downs Lenoir-Rhyne, 7-2,
Monday In South Atlantic Conference Action
L-R falls to 6-6 overall and 2-4 in league play
Harrogate, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University Women’s Tennis Team
(7-7, 4-3) defeated Lenoir-Rhyne College (6-6, 2-4) Monday afternoon by a score
of 7-2 in South Atlantic Conference play at Annan Courts in Harrogate, Tenn.
The Bears won one of three doubles matches as junior Jen Binney (Cocoa
Beach, Fla./Cocoa Beach HS) and freshman Ashley Halvorson (Southlake,
Texas/Carroll HS) won the No. 2 flight (9-8 (7-1)). Binney also took her No. 3
singles match in three sets (3-6, 6-0, 10-6) for the 7-2 final.
LMU was led by Kathleen Rollet (Bougé Chambalud, FRANCE) as she claimed
victory in No. 1 singles and teamed up with Rachel Redmond (Somerset, Ky.) to
win No. 1 doubles.
Lenoir-Rhyne concludes SAC play when it hosts Newberry on Tuesday at Jaycee
Park in Hickory. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
