Pfeiffer Women’s Tennis Defeats
Lenoir-Rhyne, 7-2, In Bears’ 2008 Season Opener
Kelli Ball and Ashley Halvorson win their respective singles matches
Hickory, N.C. – The Pfeiffer University Women’s Tennis Team (3-1)
defeated Lenoir-Rhyne College (0-1) by a score of 7-2 at Hickory High School
Monday afternoon.
The match was the first for the Bears under Director of Tennis Bobby McKee.
L-R was led by sophomore Kelli Ball (Goose Creek, S.C./Keller [Texas]
HS) and freshman Ashley Halvorson (Southlake, Texas/Keller HS), who won
No. 3 and 4 singles, respectively.
Lenoir-Rhyne will take the court in its first South Atlantic Conference match
on Friday in a doubleheader with the Men’s Tennis team at Wingate in Wingate,
N.C. Both matches are scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m., and will be played
simultaneously.
