Hickory, N.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Mike Houston has been promoted to Assistant Head Football Coach, Head Coach Fred Goldsmith announced today.  Houston just completed his third season with the Bears and will retain his duties as Defensive Coordinator and Secondary Coach.

Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Football Team has signed 26 student-athletes to national letters-of-intent for the 2010 season, Head Football Coach Fred Goldsmith announced today.  Fifteen players are from the state of North Carolina.

L-R Head Football Coach Fred Goldsmith To Coach In The "Texas Vs. The Nation" Game

El Paso, Texas – L-R Head Football Coach Fred Goldsmith has been selected to coach in the annual “Texas Versus The Nation” All-Star Challenge.  Goldsmith will serve as the Texas Team Defensive Coordinator.  The contest, an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision Senior All-Star Game, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 6, in El Paso, Texas, at the Sun Bowl at Noon.

Lenoir-Rhyne Graduate Perry Fewell Named Interim Head Coach Of The Buffalo Bills

Orchard Park, N.Y. – Former Lenoir-Rhyne University football player Perry Fewell was named interim Head Coach of the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday. Fewell was a four-year letterman for the Bears from 1980 to 1983 as a running back and a linebacker.
