El Paso, Texas – L-R Head Football Coach Fred Goldsmith has been selected to coach in the annual “Texas Versus The Nation” All-Star Challenge. Goldsmith will serve as the Texas Team Defensive Coordinator. The contest, an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision Senior All-Star Game, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 6, in El Paso, Texas, at the Sun Bowl at Noon.

Lenoir-Rhyne Graduate Perry Fewell Named Interim Head Coach Of The Buffalo Bills
Orchard Park, N.Y. – Former Lenoir-Rhyne University football player Perry Fewell was named interim Head Coach of the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday. Fewell was a four-year letterman for the Bears from 1980 to 1983 as a running back and a linebacker.

Rock Hill, S.C. – Two members of the Lenoir-Rhyne University Football Team earned 2009 All-South Atlantic Conference honors, league officials announced today. Marcus Shuford was named to the first team while Harrison Smith garnered second-team accolades.
