Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Places Four On The Daktronics All-South Atlantic Region Second Team

Seniors Meredith O’Connor and Taylor Queen voted all-region in their final season with the Bears

Milledgeville, Ga. – The Lenoir-Rhyne College Softball Team saw four of its players named to the 2008 Daktronics All-South Atlantic Region Second Team, region officials announced today.

Senior pitcher Meredith O’Connor (Charlotte, N.C./Appalachian State Univ.), who also was named the 2008 South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Year, and senior centerfielder Taylor Queen (Conover, N.C./St. Stephens HS), a three-time All-SAC First Team pick, took second-team honors in their final season with the Bears.

Sophomore right fielder Brittany Cherry (Myrtle Beach, S.C./Carolina Forest HS) and redshirt freshman shortstop Kat Rivers (Royston, Ga./Franklin County HS) were also named to the all-region squad.

All four players were 2008 South Atlantic Conference First Team selections.

The Daktronics All-South Atlantic Region teams are voted on by the region’s sports information directors. The South Atlantic Region is comprised of the Conference Carolinas, the Peach Belt Conference and the South Atlantic Conference.
