Lenoir-Rhyne’s Noel Belk Named South Atlantic Conference Softball Player Of The Week

Junior from Charlotte, N.C., batted .471 and picked up two wins on the mound in leading the Bears to three wins this past week

Rock Hill, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne College’s Noel Belk was named South Atlantic Conference Softball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.

Belk, a junior from Charlotte, N.C., batted .471 (eight for 17) with two runs batted in and five runs scored as she led Lenoir-Rhyne to three wins this past week. The Queens University transfer also went 2-1 on the mound with a 2.84 earned run average.

Belk was a South Atlantic Conference Pitcher-Of-The-Week honoree earlier this season as well.

Lenoir-Rhyne is 20-7 on the year and ranked No. 23 in NCAA Division II. L-R returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts No. 13 UNC Pembroke (21-5) in a doubleheader on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m.

The SAC Softball Player and Pitcher Of The Week are voted on by the league’s eight sports information directors.
