Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Wins Twice On The Final Day Of The
Catawba College Invitational
L-R defeats Wheeling Jesuit (3-2) and Fairmont State (4-1) to improve to
17-4 on the year
Salisbury, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne College Softball Team (17-4)
defeated Wheeling Jesuit, 3-2, and Fairmont State, 4-1 in eight innings, at the
Catawba College Invitational Sunday afternoon at Salisbury Community Park in
Salisbury, N.C.

Senior first baseman Leah Krohn (Taylorsville, N.C./Alexander Central HS)
hit a three-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to help the Bears rally
from a 2-0 deficit en route to the comeback win.
Junior Noel Belk (Charlotte, N.C./Queens University) (6-1) struck out
six batters in picking up the victory.

Krohn broke a one-all tie with another three-run home run in the top of the
eighth inning with two outs to lead the Bears to the victory.
L-R senior Meredith O’Connor (Charlotte, N.C./Appalachian State Univ.)
improved to 9-2 after allowing just one run while striking out five in eight
innings of work.
