On Tuesday, November 27^th, the Lenoir-Rhyne Softball team began their first annual triathlon.  The triathlon was a three-day event consisting of a five-mile run, a 750-meter swim and 12-mile bike per pair.  The entire softball team was split into pairs.  The teams consisted of:

The Alley Cats:  Jessica Luper and Megan Hull
The Thunder Sloths:  Karie Pushard and Michelle Smith
The Tortoise and The Hare:  Lauren Johnson and Heather Brock
Mere-Brand:  Meredith O’Connor and Brandi Haithcock
Thing One & Two:  Brittany Cherry and Amanda Stewart
Garfield and Odie:  Leah Krohn and Morgan Vickers
Puss ‘n’ Boots:  Noel Belk and Kat Rivers

Day One (November 27) of the triathlon included the completion of a combined five-mile run (2.5 miles for each partner), through the streets of Hickory.  The results were as follows:

1^st - Puss ‘n’ Boots - (44:27)
2^nd - Thing One & Two - + 0:39
3^rd - The Tortoise and The Hare - +1:50
4^th - The Alley Cats - +2:19
5^th - The Thunder Sloths - +5:36

Day Two (November 28^th) consisted of a 750-meter swim (375-meters per partner) at the Lenoir-Rhyne Pool.  The results were as follows:

2^nd - The Alley Cats - 33:58
3^rd - The Tortoise and The Hare - 38:56
4^th - Puss ‘n’ Boots - 39:18
5^th - Thing One & Two - 39:25
6^th - Mere-Brand - 39:58
7^th - Garfield & Odie - 40:42

Combined Day 1 and Day 2 rankings:
1^st - The Thunder Sloths  1 hour, 19 minutes and 50 seconds
2^nd - The Alley Cats - +0:54

The third and final day (November 30^th) entailed a 12-mile bike at Geitner Park (6 miles each).  The results were as follows:

4^th - Puss ‘n’ Boots - 71:43
5^th - Mere-Brand - 73:26
