Lenoir-Rhyne College Women’s Soccer Competes In The Western Carolina
Seven-Versus-Seven Tournament
One squad advances to the quarterfinals
Cullowhee, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Soccer Team traveled to
Western Carolina University this past Saturday to compete in a
seven-versus-seven spring tournament.
The Bears entered two teams which competed against Jacksonville State
University, Gardner-Webb, Newberry College, Carson-Newman College, East
Tennessee State University, Western Carolina University and USC Upstate.
The girls had a great day of competition, full of well-earned goals and
relentless team effort.
Team One for L-R pulled off a victory against East Tennessee State and tied
USC Upstate, both NCAA Division I Programs. Team Two for the Bears tied
Gardner-Webb, another NCAA Division I Team.
With the conclusion of Western Carolina’s seven-versus-seven tournament and a
team making it to the quarterfinals of the tournament, the Bears closed out the
spring season on a positive note.
In the fall, the Bears will be joined by nine incoming players and together
they will look to make a run for the South Atlantic Conference Championship.
