Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Soccer Defeats
Wofford, 1-0
Junior Lauren Rosch scored the lone goal for the Bears
Spartanburg, S.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Soccer Team defeated NCAA
Division I Southern Conference-member Wofford College by a score of 1-0 at the
Wofford Soccer Complex in Spartanburg, SC.
The Bears’ game-winner came off the foot of sophomore forward Lauren Rosch
(Knoxville, Tenn./Farragut HS) during the first half of the night’s game.
Rosch was able to hit a shot over the head of Wofford’s goalkeeper from 20 yards
out for the game’s lone goal.
Overall, the Bears had a great defensive performance and team effort, showing
their ability to execute on counter attacks.
The Bears have seen their share of Southern Conference members this spring
including Appalachian State, Western Carolina University, and most recently,
Wofford.
The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Team will travel this weekend to Western Carolina’s
7v7 tournament located in Cullowhee, N.C. Here, the Bears will compete against
other NCAA Division I Teams such as Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville State University,
East Tennessee State University and USC Upstate.
