Lenoir-Rhyne’s Men’s Soccer Places Two On The NSCAA/adidas
First-Team All-Region Squad
Luis Carrizosa and Aaron Wheeler selected to the 2007 National Soccer Coaches
Association of America/adidas All-Appalachian Region First Team
Kansas City, Kan. – Lenoir-Rhyne College’s Luis Carrizosa and Aaron
Wheeler were named to the 2007 NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of
America)/adidas NCAA Division II All-Appalachian Region First Team in Men’s
Soccer.
Meanwhile, junior midfielder Gary Higgins (Paisley, SCOTLAND/St. Andrews
Academy) was named to the second team.
Carrizosa, a junior midfielder from North Bergen, N.J., is a First-Team
All-South Atlantic Conference and Daktronics, Inc., All-Region honoree as well
in 2007 and led the squad in assists (10) and points (18) this year.
The North Bergen High School graduate is a three-time all-league and all-region
selection. Wheeler (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco HS), a sophomore forward, has been a
First-Team All-SAC and NSCAA/adidas All-Appalachian Region pick the past two
years.
Higgins was recently selected has an honorable mention All-American by
Daktronics, Inc., and has been an all-region pick the past two seasons.
Higgins, a two-time all-region honoree, finished the 2007 campaign with five
goals and 11 points.
Lenoir-Rhyne finished the 2007 campaign with a 13-6 mark.
The Appalachian Region consists of the South Atlantic Conference and the West
Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. |
