Lenoir-Rhyne’s Luis Carrizosa Earns Academic All-District Honors For Men’s Soccer

Junior from North Bergen, N.J., named to the ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-District III Second Team

Bristol, Conn. – Lenoir-Rhyne College’s Luis Carrizosa was named to the ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-District III College Division Second Team for Men’s Soccer.

Carrizosa, a junior forward from North Bergen, N.J., ranked first on the team in assists (10) and points (18) in leading the squad to a 13-6 record in 2007.

Carrizosa, who sports a 3.49 grade point average while majoring in international business, is a two-time All-South Atlantic Conference honoree and earned NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II All-Appalachian Region First-Team accolades in 2006.

The North Bergen High School graduate has 14 goals, 16 assists and 44 points for his collegiate career so far. The ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Team is selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) from institutions within District III, which includes the states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
