Tom Gott begins his second season
in 2007 as an Assistant
Coach for the Lenoir-Rhyne
Men's Soccer Team and will
oversee the goalkeepers.
Gott will also be an
assistant coach for the
Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer
Team in 2007.
In Gott's tutelage, the
Bears allowed just 13 goals
in 21 games (0.62 goals per
game) as the squad put
together its best year in
school history. L-R
finished with a 19-1-1 mark
and a No. 5 national ranking
in NCAA Division II.
Lenoir-Rhyne also won the
Food Lion SAC Tournament and
advanced all the way to the
regional finals.
Gott came off an
outstanding goalkeeper
campaign for the Bears in
2005, finishing with a
0.86 goals-against average
to go along with seven
shutouts.
Gott also co-captain for a
squad that won a then-school-record 13 games.
Gott had an outstanding
playing career in England as
a youth player with Wycombe
Wanderers Football Club where
he was named the Center Of
Excellence Player Of The
Year and played in the fifth
round of the FA Youth
Cup.
Gott also played for the
Hertfordshire County Select
Squad as well.
As a coach, Gott was in
charge of the young
goalkeepers at the Wycombe
Wanderers Center of
Excellence and gained his
UEFA B Preliminary Coaching
License.
In addition to his coaching
duties, Gott will continue
to progress towards his
undergraduate degree.
