Mark Johnson will be entering his first season as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the Lenoir-Rhyne University Baseball Team in 2011.
Johnson comes to L-R after spending the last seven seasons as an Assistant Coach for Presbyterian College (2003-09) while also heading up recruiting efforts for the Clinton, S.C., school.
While at PC, Johnson was an integral part of the Blue Hose's transition to NCAA Division I and their inception into the Big South Conference.
One of his pitchers at Presbyterian, Ben Dollar, signed a free agent contract for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Prior to PC, Johnson was an Assistant Baseball Coach at Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga. Johnson was part of recruiting, fundraising and field maintenance for Piedmont and led the program to a pair of National Christian College World Series Tournament appearances and the 2003 National Christian College South Region Championship.
Johnson, a four-year letterwinner at Methodist (N.C.), was a two-year captain and All-South Region honoree while playing for the Monarchs and led the school to three NCAA Division III South Region Tournament appearances (1998, 1999 and 2001).
Johnson graduated from Methodist in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in sports management and his master's of business administration from Piedmont in 2003.
