Chandler Rearden completed his first year as a Graduate Assistant Offensive Line Coach for the Bears this past fall.
In 2012, Rearden helped lead two Bears - Kaleb Myrick and Parker Murray - to all-conference honors while Myrick won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy. The offensive line helped pave the way for L-R to finish second in NCAA Division II in rushing yards at 376.2 yards per game.
Rearden, who received his bachelor's degree in health & physical education this past summer from Lenoir-Rhyne, is one of the best offensive linemen in school history.
A two-time NCAA Division II All-American (2010-11), Rearden was named the recipient of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy the past two seasons.
The award is given annually to the top offensive lineman in the South Atlantic Conference. Rearden is the first L-R player to ever receive the award.
Rearden was a big reason the Bears ranked in the top three in rushing in NCAA Division II the past two years including a nation's-best 319.5 yards per game in 2010.
Rearden, a native of Greenwood, S.C., is the 2008 and 2010 recipient of the Charles P. Stasavich Endowed Scholarship.
