L-R Sports Hall of Fame

History and Overview
Established by the Lenoir-Rhyne Board of Trustees in 1976, the Sports Hall of Fame is designed to recognize and perpetuate the noteworthy athletic tradition of Lenoir-Rhyne by honoring and memorializing individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the tradition.

The Hall operates under the authority of the Board of Trustees, according to a set of guidelines established by that group.  Hall of Famers must not have represented Lenoir-Rhyne as student-athletes for 10 years immediately preceding the date of their induction and cannot be full-time members of the L-R staff at the time of their induction

Awards and administration are provided by the Piedmont Educational Foundation. Each year on the morning of the Homecoming football game, a special Hall of Fame induction ceremony is held highlighting the careers of each of the inductees.

The 2012 Hall Of Fame Class will be inducted on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 11:15 a.m., at the P.E. Monroe Auditorium as part of Homecoming Weekend on the campus of Lenoir-Rhyne University.
