Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Golf Finishes Second At The Tusculum Fall Classic

Freshman Megan Ulep ties for first to lead the Bears

Greeneville, Tenn. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams concluded play today at the Tusculum Fall Classic at Link Hills Golf Course with the women finishing second out of nine teams and the men finishing eighth out of 10 squads.

The L-R Women’s Team was led by freshman Megan Ulep (Belmont, N.C.), who tied for first with a six-over 150.  Ulep lost in a playoff to Limestone’s Katie Clayton (Lyman, S.C.).  Ulep and Clayton were the only two golfers to have a par round either day.

As a team, the Bears shot a +66 (642) to finish second on the par-72, 5,804 yard course.  L-R was one shot behind Wingate University, which took home the team title.

On the men’s side, Ty Dannenbring shot a 72-75 (+5, 147) on the 6,713 yard, par-71 course to finish tied for 19th.

The Bears finished eighth overall after shooting a +31 (599). The host school, Tusculum College, won the men’s grouping with a -5 (563).

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Team will host the Myrtle Beach Women’s Golf Intercollegiate Tournament on Oct. 8-9 at River Hills Golf Course in Little River, S.C.

The L-R Men’s Team will return to action on Oct. 15-16 in the Patsy Rendleman Invitational hosted by Catawba College at Salisbury Country Club.
