Lenoir-Rhyne Places Three On The 2008 All-South Atlantic Conference Golf Teams

Senior Anna Grove named the 2008 Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Rock Hill, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne College has placed three on the 2008 All-South Atlantic Conference Golf Teams, league officials announced Monday night.

The awards were presented after the first two rounds of the 2008 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Golf Tournament at Lake Hickory Country Club at Catawba Springs in Hickory, N.C.

Senior Anna Grove (Danville, Calif.) was named the Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year. A 2005 All-SAC Second-Team selection and the team's No. 1 golfer last year, Grove boasts a 3.98 GPA as a pre-medical science major and is highly involved on L-R’s campus.

Freshman Brenna Martens (St. Croix Falls, Wisc.) was selected to the Women’s Golf All-SAC First Team.

On the men’s side, junior Kent George (Granite Falls, N.C.) and senior Jakin Fox (Statesville, N.C.) were named to the All-SAC First and Second Teams, respectively.
