Lenoir-Rhyne College Women’s Golf Opens Spring Season With
A 13th-Place Finish At The Tusculum College/Kiawah Island Intercollegiate
Brenna Martens finishes ninth to lead the Bears
Kiawah Island, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne College Women’s Golf Team
opened the spring season this weekend with a 13th-place finish at the Tusculum
College/Kiawah Island Intercollegiate.
The Bears, who finished 13th (688, +112) out of 18 teams, ended the weekend
third out of the five South Atlantic Conference schools represented in the
tournament.
Lenoir-Rhyne was led by Brenna Martens (St. Croix Falls, Wisc.), who
shot a 152 (+8), which was good for ninth place.
Nova Southeastern’s Maria Garcia Austt won the individual championship with a
147 (+3) over the 5,800-yard, par-72 course.
Florida Southern took home the team title with a score of 599 (+23).
The Bears will next hit the links on February 18-19 at the Mars Hill College
Intercollegiate at Cougar Point in Sunset Beach, N.C.
