Senior placekicker Andrew Coln earns All-SAC First Team honors for the second time in his career

Rock Hill, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne College Football Team saw four of its players placed on the 2007 All-South Atlantic Conference Teams. The all-league squads were announced Monday by the league office and voted on by the conference’s seven head coaches.

Senior placekicker Andrew Coln (Simpsonville, S.C./Mauldin HS) received All-SAC First Team accolades for the second time in his career as a Bear. Coln was also named the statistical champion for field goal percentage (.722) and tied the school record for field goals in a season with 13 (Jeff Long, 1981) this year. Coln finished third on Lenoir-Rhyne’s all-time scoring list for kickers with 167 as well.

Senior offensive lineman Greg Jones (Elon, N.C./Western Alamance HS), junior defensive back Barry Tate (Burlington, N.C./Hugh M. Cummings HS) and sophomore long snapper Jordon Simmons (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Christian HS) took second-team honors for L-R.

Jones, a captain in 2007, started for the third straight year while Tate finished the season with 30 tackles and three interceptions and led the South Atlantic Conference in pass break-ups with 11.
