Brian Hill is entering his
sixth season as an assistant
coach for Lenoir-Rhyne and
will be t Assistant Head
Coach under Fred Goldsmith
starting this year.
In addition, Hill is L-R’s
Defensive Line Coach and
coordinator of the team’s
highly-successful camps and
served as Lenoir-Rhyne
Associate Head Coach from
2004 to 2006.
Last year, Hill coached one
of the best units in the SAC
with two players earning
all-league honors (Aaron
Cotteral and Benjamin
McDowell).
Hill came to Hickory after
being Head Football Coach at
Union College from
1999-2001.
Before being named Union’s
mentor, Hill was the
school’s Assistant Head
Coach and Defensive
Coordinator from 1996-98.
In 1997, Hill’s defense was
the league’s top-ranked
scoring unit and the
fourth-best overall in NAIA
Division I.
Hill’s other coaching stints
included Cumberland College
(Defensive Line, 1994-95),
Virginia Military Institute
(Outside Linebackers, 1993)
and Glenville State College
(Defensive Line, 1991-92).
At GSC, he helped coached an
NAIA All-American.
While at Cumberland, Hill
helped produce the No.
1-ranked defense in the
Mid-South Conference as well
as two NAIA All-Americans.
Hill received his Bachelor
of Arts degree from
Glenville State in 1992 and
earned his master’s degree
in physical education in
1999 from Union.
Hill and his wife, Jamie,
have one daughter, Emma, who
turns five in September.
At the Lenoir-Rhyne Honors
Convocation in May of 2007,
Hill was named the Jeff
Norris Non-Teaching Employee
Of The Year.
