J.P. Gunter is entering his first season as a graduate assistant for the Lenoir-Rhyne Football Team and will oversee the tight ends in 2007.

Gunter was a four-year letterwinner for the Bears (2003-06) and started at center for three consecutive seasons beginning in 2004.

Gunter was also a team captain in 2006 and earned All-South Atlantic Conference Second-Team honors.

Gunter graduated from L-R in May of 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management.

Gunter is a native of Columbia, S.C., and a graduate of Dutch Fork High School where he earned all-area honors.
