Third Year

Ron Boyd is entering his third year as Strength and Conditioning and Offensive Line Coach for the L-R Football Team.

Boyd, who was hired in the spring of 2005, came to L-R after coaching the previous seven seasons (1998-2004) at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, W.Va., as Offensive Line Coach.

During his tenure at West Virginia Wesleyan, the Bobcats won a pair West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) Championships in 2002 and 2003 and the squad put together a 17-game winning streak in the league.

Boyd’s offensive lines at West Virginia Wesleyan helped set school records in single-game, single-season and career-leading rushers.

During the 2002 and 2003 championship seasons, West Virginia Wesleyan finished 14th and 20th overall in NCAA Division II in rushing with 220 and 214 yards per game, respectively.

Boyd also coached at West Virginia Tech (1996-97), Cumberland College (1995) and West Virginia Wesleyan (1993 and 1994), all as Offensive Line Coach.

Boyd, a native of Delmont, Pa., and a 1992 graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan, is a three-year letterwinner, two-year starter and team captain his senior year on the football squad.

Boyd is an active member of the American Football Coaches Association and has served on several of the organization’s committees.
