Two Lenoir-Rhyne Cross Country Runners Earn All-Region
Honors
Senior Jon Sharp and sophomore Genna Eisenmann both earn NCAA Division
II All-Southeast Region accolades
Wingate, N.C. - Two Lenoir-Rhyne Cross Country runners, senior Jon
Sharp (Jacksonville, N.C./Jacksonville HS) and sophomore Genna Eisenmann
(Clayton, N.C./Clayton HS) earned NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region honors
Saturday morning at the Wingate Cross Country facility.
Sharp placed eighth overall with a time of 33:21 over the 10K course in leading
Lenoir-Rhyne to a seventh-place finish out of 16 teams.
St. Andrews Presbyterian and Mars Hill finished 1-2 in the men's race to earned
a trip to the NCAA Division II National Championship.
On the women's side, Eisenmann ran a 24:30 over 8K to place 13th overall
while the Bears, as a team, placed ninth out of 19 teams.
North Carolina Central and Lincoln Memorial placed first and second to punch
their tickets to the finals.
The NCAA Division II National Championships will take place on Saturday,
November 18, in Pensacola, Florida, on the campus of West Florida University. Men's
