Lenoir-Rhyne Cross Country Teams Compete At The Blue Ridge
Open
Both teams placed 16th overall
Boone, N.C. – Both Lenoir-Rhyne College Cross Country Teams placed
16th overall against mostly NCAA Division I competition at the Blue Ridge Open
Friday evening at State Farm Fields in Boone, N.C.
Texas finished first out of 20 teams on the men’s side while Milligan College
placed first out of 18 squads in the women’s race.
For the men, sophomore Brad Popple (Iron Station, N.C./East Lincoln
HS) led the Bears as he finished in 71st place with a time of 26:24 over the 8K
course while freshman Ason Forsyth (Wingate, N.C./Forest Hills HS) ran a
26:40 to place 86th overall.
Junior Genna Eisenmann (Clayton, N.C./Clayton HS) was Lenoir-Rhyne’s
top female runner, finishing the 5K course with a time of 19:16 and placing 33rd
overall.
Lenoir-Rhyne next competes in the 2007 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference
Cross Country Championship on Saturday, October 20, beginning at 9:00 a.m., in
Salisbury, N.C.
