season
Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne College Women’s Basketball Team
(11-9) took advantage of 59.3 percent (16-of-27) shooting from the field in the
second half to rout Brevard (7-13), 74-36, Wednesday night at Shuford Memorial
Gymnasium.
The victory snaps a four-game losing streak for the Bears. L-R’s last win
came on Jan. 16 at home against Mars Hill, a 85-76 victory.

four assists while sophomore guard Meredith Webster (High Point,
N.C./High Point Central HS) and sophomore center Jacquelyn Kremer
(Sevierville, Tenn./Sevier County HS) each added 10 points each for the Bears.
After the Tornados scored the first basket of the evening, the Bears took
control of the game. L-R led by 13 at halftime (30-17) and ended the contest
with a 38 point advantage, their largest margin of victory of the season.
Hickory native Holly Krogman was the light in an otherwise dismal night for
Brevard, scoring 10 points despite the loss.
Lenoir-Rhyne will play host South Atlantic Conference rival Newberry on
Saturday with a 6:00 p.m. scheduled tipoff. During Saturday’s contest, the
