Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Basketball Ranked No. 11 In NCAA
Division II
Bears ranking highest ever as a NCAA Division II institution
Kansas City, Mo. – The Lenoir-Rhyne College Men’s Basketball Team is
ranked No. 11 in this week’s NABC/NCAA Division II Top 25 National Poll. The
NABC is the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The Bears move up
four spots from last week, when they were ranked No. 15.
The ranking is also the highest Lenoir-Rhyne has ever attained as a member
of NCAA Division II.
Lenoir-Rhyne is 21-3 overall and 12-0 in the South Atlantic Conference and
has claimed at least a share of the 2007-08 SAC Regular Season Title. The
Bears would clinch the season championship outright with a win in one of its
final two games.
The Bears, winners of their last 14 contests, are in the midst of their
longest win streak since the 1960-61 season, when they reeled off 16 straight
victories.
The Bears round out conference play this week, hosting Wingate (20-5, 10-2)
in a SAC showdown Wednesday at 8:00 p.m., before traveling to Mars Hill on
Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. tipoff.
