NEW YORK GIANTS' PERRY FEWELL RETURNS TO LENOIR-RHYNE

Giants defensive coordinator speaks to the team after a spring practice

Hickory, N.C. - The New York Giants Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell spoke recently after a Lenoir-Rhyne spring football practice.  Fewell is a 1985 graduate of L-R who was part of a Giants Team that won the Super Bowl XLVI Championship over the New England Patriots in February.

Fewell was on campus as a member of the school's Board of Visitors as part of Lenoir-Rhyne's Board Of Trustees weekend.

Fewell just finished his second year as defensive coordinator for the Giants after serving as interim Head Coach of the Buffalo Bills in the latter half of the 2009 season.

Fewell was also defensive coordinator of the Bills (2006-09) for four years and also served as an assistant for the Chicago Bears (2005), the St. Louis Rams (2003-04) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (1998-02).

Prior to the NFL, Fewell was an assistant on the collegiate level at Vanderbilt (1995-97), Kent State (1988-91), Army (1987, 1992-94) and North Carolina (1985-88).

Fewell was a four-year letterwinner for the Bears (1980-83) and was named the team's Most Improved Player.  Fewell's career totals included 106 tackles and two interceptions on defense and 69 yards rushing on offense.

Fewell was inducted into Lenoir-Rhyne University Sports Hall Of Fame in October of 2011 and is a member of the Belmont Sports Hall Of Fame (a 2001 inductee).
