Rock Hill, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne University's Kate Griewisch has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner Of The Week for the fourth time this season, league officials announced today.
Griewisch, a junior NCAA Division II All-American from Banner Elk, N.C., finished first at the 2010 Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational this past Saturday at Southside Park in Newton, N.C. Griewisch ran the 5K course in 18:24 and won by one minute and six seconds.
Griewisch, the 2009 South Atlantic Conference and NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Runner Of The Year, helped lead the Bears to a first-place finish out of 11 schools.
Griewisch won the weekly conference honor for the eighth time in her career as well.
Tusculum's Simon Holzapfel was named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner Of The Week.
