Brasschaat, BELGIUM – Former Lenoir-Rhyne University softball star Noel Belk has continued her career this summer internationally as she playing for the Brasschaat Braves in Belgium.
Belk, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, not only pitches and plays second base for the squad but is the Head Coach of the Braves as well.
The regular season runs from June to September and the team will compete in the European Cup from August 15-23 in Italy.
The team will play in the A Poll and will face the best teams from Italy, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, etc.
Belk is a two-time First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference pick (2008-09) and earned 2009 NCAA Division II Louisville/NFCA All-Southeast Region First-Team accolades.
Belk led the Bears to the 2008 South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship, two straight playoff berths and the right to host one-half of this year's NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Tournament (Hickory Regional).
