Hickory, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne's student-athletes raised $929.00 at its annual Rock-A-Thon, a three-day event to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation from April 13 through April 15.  The women's golf team (pictured here) was one of the Bears' 17 sports that took shifts rocking on L-R's "Front Porch."  This marks the fifth straight year L-R has staged the event.

The event is also sponsored by Lenoir-Rhyne's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.  The SAAC is made up of student-athletes who provide insight on the student-athlete experience.  The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect the lives of student-athletes on member institution campuses.

The South Atlantic Conference SAAC proudly participates in the Division II national SAAC's initiative to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  The Make-A-Wish Foundation fundraising campaign has been identified as part of the Division II strategic plan and is a major foundation for the development of the Division II's national idtentity.

Each league school conducts its own fundraising efforts throughout the year, and the proceeds are combined to calculate a grand total for the SAC at the end of each academic year.
