Freshman shortstop Dalton Hall finished with two hits and two runs batted in despite Lenoir-Rhyne's 19-9 loss to Pfeiffer at home Tuesday night.

Hickory, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University Baseball Team (24-25) collected 27 hits in powering by Lenoir-Rhyne University (19-23), 19-9, Tuesday evening at Bears Field.

Pfeiffer took control early with five runs in each of the first and third innings for a 10-0 advantage.  The Falcons' Josh Strickland (Liberty, N.C.) hit a two-run home run in the first inning while Will Davis (New London, N.C.) highlighted the third inning with a two-run single.

L-R was never in the contest as Pfeiffer built leads of 13-1 and 18-5 and scored in every inning but one.

Davis finished with six hits and five runs batted in, both game-highs, while Eric Shoemaker (Huntersville, N.C.) and Zack Pou (Stanley, N.C.) added four hits each to lead the Falcons.

L-R was led by sophomore outfielder Stephan Arcieri (Roswell, Ga.) and freshman shortstop Dalton Hall (Hickory, N.C.) with two runs batted in apiece.

Pfeiffer's Bryan Tuttle (Lenoir, N.C.) was credited with the win and improved to 1-3 on the year while L-R junior Chad Ritch (Haines City, Fla.) fell to 1-2 with the setback.

Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Harrogate, Tenn., to face Lincoln Memorial on Friday in a South Atlantic Conference game beginning at 7 p.m.
