Rock Hill, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne University's Rob Knight has been named the South Atlantic Conference Baseball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.
Knight, a senior catcher/designated hitter from Sterling Heights, Mich., batted .524 (11-for-21) to go along with 15 runs batted in to lead L-R to a 4-2 week including a three-game sweep of SAC-rival Brevard at home.
Knight drove in at least one run in each game last week including five in L-R's 18-12 win over Brevard on Sunday in game one of a doubleheader.
Knight, a 2009 All-South Atlantic Conference second-team pick, currently leads the team in batting average (.424) and runs batted in (32).
Mars Hill's Justin Hall was named the South Atlantic Conference Baseball Pitcher Of The Week.
Lenoir-Rhyne (11-11, 6-3) next travels to Milledgeville, Ga., to face Georgia College & State on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
