Several Records Fall For L-R Women's Swimming At The Halfway Point Of The Bluegrass Mountain Championships

Three team records broken after the first two days of competition

Charlotte, N.C. – Despite its 13th-place standing after the second day of the Bluegrass Mountain Championships at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center, several records were broken for the Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Swimming Team.
Freshman Carlie Pendleton (Jamestown, N.C.) established a new school mark in the 50-yard freestyle (25.51) while sophomore Lindsay Atkin (Hickory, N.C.) set an L-R record in the 200-yard intermediate medley (2:18.81).
In the evening session, Lenoir-Rhyne’s 200-yard freestyle relay – Pendleton, sophomore Victoria Justice (McLeansville, N.C.), sophomore Kathryn Turner (Charlotte, N.C.) and freshman Gina Glenn (Matthews, N.C.) – rewrote the school record book with a time of 1:45.63.
Not to be outdone, L-R’s 400-yard medley relay, consisting of Glenn, Atkin, sophomore Megan Neubauer (Taylors, S.C.) and Pendleton, tallied the school’s best-ever time with a 4:12.32.
On Wednesday, L-R’s 800-yard freestyle relay (Pendleton, Atkin, Turner and Neubauer) finished with an 8:07.92, another school record.
Wingate, with 245 points, is currently leading with two days of competition left.
