Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women’s Basketball Team has joined a list of well over a thousand schools in raising awareness for breast cancer with its participation in the WBCA Pink Zone initiative. L-R has selected its home game with Carson-Newman on Wednesday, February 10, as its date to participate.
Each player on Lenoir-Rhyne’s team will be auctioning off their special edition, pink and personalized warm-up shirt.
The silent auction will take place in the Shuford Memorial Gymnasium Lobby. The auction will begin before the women’s game and will end five minutes into the second half.
All proceeds will go to the WBCA Pink Zone. Only cash and checks will be accepted.
The WBCA Pink Zone initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.
