Senior from Charlotte, N.C., averaged 17.5 points in leading Lenoir-Rhyne to a 2-0 week
Lenoir-Rhyne senior guard Amber Holt was named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player Of The Week on Monday.
Rock Hill, S.C. Ė Lenoir-Rhyne Universityís Amber Holt has been named the South Atlantic Conference Womenís Basketball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.† The senior guard from Charlotte, N.C., averaged 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in leading L-R to a 2-0 week.
Holt started the week with a game-high 14 points in Lenoir-Rhyneís 74-49 win over Brevard at home last Wednesday before leading all scorers with 21 points and five assists in L-Rís 69-57 triumph against first-place Newberry in a league showdown last Saturday at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.
Holt, a three-time All-SAC First-Team honoree, ranks third in scoring (11.1 ppg) and second in assists (3.2 apg) this year for Lenoir-Rhyne.
L-R (15-6, 8-3) is now tied for first in the league standings with Newberry.
Brevardís Jonathan Whitson has been named South Atlantic Conference Menís Basketball Player Of The Week.
Lenoir-Rhyne hosts Carson-Newman in another key SAC contest on Wednesday beginning at 6 p.m.
