Lilburn, Ga. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women’s Basketball Team is ranked No. 20 in the 2009-10 USA Today ESPN NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Preseason National Poll.  This marks the second national publication which has the Bears ranked nationally in the preseason.

Last month, the 2009-10 Division II Bulletin Poll had the Bears ranked at No. 22.

Lenoir-Rhyne (27-5 last year) was picked first in the South Atlantic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, gaining eight of the nine first-place votes.

L-R returns all five starters and its top ten scorers from a squad that won both the South Atlantic Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships last year and hosted the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Tournament as the No. 1 seed.

Lenoir-Rhyne opens the regular season on Monday, November 16, at 7:00 p.m., against Georgia College & State in Milledgeville, Ga.
