Lenoir-Rhyne Football To Host West Chester On Saturday In The NCAA Division II National Semifinals

|The Lenoir-Rhyne University Football Team (12-1) will host West Chester (13-1) at Moretz Stadium next Saturday at Noon in a 2013 NCAA Division II National Semifinal game.|
Indianapolis, Ind. - Lenoir-Rhyne (12-1) will host West Chester (13-1) on Saturday at Noon at Moretz Stadium in an NCAA Division II Football National Semifinal game.
The winner will face either Northwest Missouri State (13-0) or Grand Valley State (12-2) in the NCAA Division II National Championship game on Saturday, December 21, at Braly Municipal Stadium in Florence, Ala.
In the national quarterfinals last Saturday, Lenoir-Rhyne prevailed at home over North Alabama (10-3) by a 42-39 score while West Chester earned a 28-7 win over Shepherd (11-1) in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
Lenoir-Rhyne, ranked No. 13 in NCAA Division II, has won 12 straight games and set a school single-season record for victories in a season with the win over North Alabama.
The Bears are also playing in the national semifinals for the first time since 1962, when L-R defeated Northern State (S.D.) by a 20-7 score in the NAIA Eastern Playoff game in Hickory, N.C.
The Bears are 7-1 at home this season and have won 19 of their last 20 games at Moretz Stadium dating back to the 2010 season. Lenoir-Rhyne is also 20-2 in its last 22 contests.
West Chester is ranked 15th in the nation and has won four consecutive games including three in the playoffs. The Bears and the Golden Rams have met twice in school history with West Chester winning in both 1969 (28-14) and 1970 (38-21).
Tickets to the game are $15.00 for general admission and $10.00 for children 12 and under and students with proper identification. A limited number of reserved tickets may be available for $20.00.
