Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team (4-5) snapped a four-match losing streak with an 18-5 win over Savannah College of Art & Design (7-3) Saturday morning at Moretz Stadium.

L-R senior Sarah Minick (Marietta, Ga.) led all scorers with four goals to go along with three assists while sophomore Mary Minick (Marietta, Ga.) added two goals and a pair of assists in the victory.

SCAD lost despite two goals each from Haley Fauvelle (Lake Oswego, Ore.) and Kayla Nelson (Denton, Md.).

Lenoir-Rhyne held a 5-2 advantage before breaking open the contest with nine straight goals which spanned both halves of play.

Sophomore Lauren Donovan (Hollywood, Md.) added two goals and an assist for the Bears, who held the advantage in both shots taken (39-18) and ground balls (28-15) in the victory.

In goal for Lenoir-Rhyne, junior Ashley Gruning (Jackson, N.J.) earned the win while sophomore Allison Senft (Marietta, Ga.) added seven saves as the starter as well for the Bears.

For the Savannah College of Art & Design, goalkeeper Jennifer Danko (Westerville, Ohio) took the loss on the afternoon despite totaling 14 saves.

Lenoir-Rhyne faces Catawba on Wednesday in Salisbury, N.C., beginning at 6:00 p.m. Savannah College of Art & Design, meanwhile,returns home tohost St. Andrews in Hardeeville, S.C, at Noon.
