Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Picked Fifth In The 2012 League Coaches Preseason Poll

Rock Hill, S.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne University Volleyball Team was picked to finish fifth in the South Atlantic Conference race as voted on by the league's 10 head coaches in the 2012 preseason poll.
Wingate was picked to repeat as SAC Champions after finishing 32-1 last year and advancing to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship.
The Bulldogs enter the season on an 82-match winning streak in the conference and have won their past 50 regular season contests.
The Bears went 17-15 last season and tied for fifth in league play with a record of 8-10 against conference opponents.
Several top returnees for L-R this fall include sophomore middle blocker Haley Rhyne (Statesville, N.C.) and senior setter Meredith Lutz (Newton, N.C.). Rhyne was first on the squad in kills with 263 while Lutz led the team in assists (721).
Lenoir-Rhyne opens the 2012 season on Friday, August 31, in Savannah, Ga., against Armstrong Atlantic State at 7:00 p.m., in the first Lady Pirate Volleyball Classic of the year.
Lenoir-Rhyne's first home match will take place on Friday, September 14, against league-foe Newberry beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.
