Foundation/Bears Club
Welcome
to the Piedmont Educational Foundation, Inc., better known to our loyal
following as the Bears Club, the official fund-raising arm of Lenoir-Rhyne
Athletics. Founded in 1946, the Foundation's primary purpose is to support the
scholarship and program costs for the men's and women's intercollegiate
athletics of Lenoir-Rhyne University.
The
Piedmont Educational Foundation (PEF) coordinates the annual athletic
fund-raising program, as well as capital and endowment gifts for
Lenoir-Rhyne University athletics. Over 600 alumni, corporations, parents and friends have
joined the Foundation and its Bears Club in support of all 17 intercollegiate
teams (As of June 1, 2007, Lenoir-Rhyne will add Men's Tennis and Women's Swimming).
Among the
benefits of being a donor to the PEF/Bears Club, one of the most important
is the pride and satisfaction of providing a quality education for a young
man or woman who has chosen Lenoir-Rhyne University.
All it
takes is the desire to be involved and a decision as to the Bears Club Giving
Level that best suits your needs and abilities.

On
Tuesday, August 5, at the Lake Hickory Country Club, the PEF/Bears Club
held the 2008 Board Of Trustees Dinner. Bob McKillop, Davidson
Head Men's Basketball Coach, was the key note speaker while Matt Corbin
and Kate Meiners were named the male and female scholar-athletes of the
year. In the picture above, Bears Club President Roger Maxey
presents a check of $742,976 to L-R President Dr. Wayne Powell.

Homecoming from what it raised at the Hanley H. Painter "Bear"
Memorial Golf Tournament and the Dinner/Dance/Auction/Gala Friday
night, October 12, at the Lake Hickory Country Club.
