Lenoir-Rhyne
Sports Medicine's 2008 Spring Break Trip To London, England
Nine Lenoir-Rhyne Athletic Training Students spent nine days over the
college's spring break for a trip to London, England. They heard lectures
from physiotherapists from professional soccer and rugby clubs as well as
professors of Sport Rehabilitation at a London University. Also, the
students were exposed to cutting edge research in injury prevention. They
attended a rugby match and a soccer game as well. In addition to the
academic portion of the trip, students toured London and experienced many of its
cultural offerings. Students gained an appreciation for injury prevention,
treatment and rehabilitation internationally. The students were led by Dr.
Michael McGee (Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Training Program Director) and
Dr. Ashley Long (Assistant Athletic Trainer and Clinical Coordinator of Athletic
Training Education). The students now look forward to using their acquired
knowledge for the betterment of athletes at Lenoir-Rhyne.
