Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women’s Soccer Team (2-1) bounced back to defeat Pfeiffer University (2-1), 2-1, Wednesday evening at the Moretz Sports – Athletic Complex. L-R junior midfielder Mariel Mena (Gainesville, Fla.) scored the game-winning goal early in the second half as the Bears handed the Lady Falcons their first setback of the year.

Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Volleyball Team (4-1, 1-0) opened South Atlantic Conference play with a 3-2 win over Brevard College (2-3, 0-1) Tuesday evening at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium. The Bears, who were also playing their first home match of the year, won by scores of 24-26, 25-13, 25-18, 22-25 and 15-9.

Rock Hill, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne's Kate Griewisch has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner Of The Week, league officials announced today. Griewisch, the 2009 South Atlantic Conference and NCAA Division II Southeast Runner Of The Year, earns the first weekly award for the 2010 season.

Pembroke, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Soccer Team (1-0) rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat UNC Pembroke (0-2), 3-2, in its 2010 season opener Sunday night at Varsity Grounds. Senior defender Kyle Winterbottom (Rochdale, ENGLAND) scored with 2:05 remaining in the contest to lift the Bears to the win.
